Hello

Today’s blog is about flipped classroom approach; flipped classroom means that what is normally done in the classroom is done at home and what is done at home is done in the classroom. It aims for a more communicative and productive class and while it has many advantages, I think the problem lies with students actually studying at home. I do think that most students would not watch or try to understand the materials given. However, if they do, this can be more beneficial than traditional ways of teaching.

Our task was to create a flipped teaching video and a lesson plan, with my friends Yasemin, Hilal and my usual partner Beyza; we decided to create a vocabulary teaching video for a flipped EFL classroom.

We first decided on what words to teach, we chose animal theme, then we began to search for a tool to create the video with (PowToon). After that we began to create the video slide by slide, my friends had internet problems and also PowToon didn’t let two people edit at once so that hindered the progress. Well, we had many other projects we worked on so it was a stressful week, even though we worked nonstop we couldn’t finish the project in a week. Here is what we have done so far:

Here is the final version of the video: https://youtu.be/gc7Q5eKNWUM
