Hello for the last time…

All things must come to an end; this will be my final blog post for the course. Over the course of this class, we created a variety of things. As a creative person, I tried to make the most of each one. Every task had its own challenges and learning opportunities, however my least favorite was the AI task. I found it overly complicated and a bit unnecessary for this kind of task. It involved many steps, for me some of these steps felt repetitive and didn’t add much value to the learning experience.

On the other hand, if I had to pick a favorite task it would be the podcast. Since my friend Beyza and I love interesting stories, we enjoyed creating something that was both unique and engaging. I also got to experiment with sound effects which was a new challenge for me. Nevertheless, I learned several new skills in this course.

Before taking this course, I already knew that English language teaching could be very interactive, and that new technologies bring new tools to use in the classroom. I realized that technology is not just for delivering content, it can also be effectively used to boost creativity and collaboration which many of our tasks required.

We all use technology and the internet in our daily lives, so combining these with language learning results in more opportunities to interact with the language. It creates new ways for students to engage with the language which can be essential for language development.

Finally, while I didn’t find every part of the course interesting, it introduced me to tools and pushed me to create things I would not normally try to create. It’s always good to create something new. You are left alone with your thoughts, and you find yourself picking, creating things. The very first thing we did for this course was creating a website, I now think that might be my favorite part. In the end, it wasn’t just about using technology, it was about expressing something. Experiences are less likely to be forgotten when you spend this much time, energy, and soul on them.

So I will remember this. Farewell.

Thank you for reading.
